I still like being able to set light colors on the various bulbs in my house, but the main reason I got the ones in the TV room were to use with the Sync.

Which sucks because I've probably sunk $1,500 into the Hue ecosystem, and some of the items are outside their return period. So I'm pretty much at my wit's end, and am going to return. I even bought another Hue sync to see if maybe something was wrong with the device. Factory reset the device, plugged in everything, started from scratch to add a new entertainment area, etc. I purchased brand new HDMI cords, every single one. The only problem is that I can't stop syncing either through the sync app, or the standard hue app (since it doesn't recognize it as being connected).Īs I've said, I've tried everything. This is slightly less annoying because this usually happens when it is actually connected (the light on the device pulses to indicate it's connected, and the lights sync to the current media). The other thing I experience is when the Hue Sync app is just frozen in a state that constantly says "connecting". Other times it will get stuck on the last colors which were displayed before it became unresponsive (which is likely a result of that setting being selected). Sometimes it will work when restarting everything, but invariably I end up in the same situation. I disabled Dolby Vision on both my TV and the device, which actually seemed to work, but then ran into the same issue a short while later. I've also tried every permutation of the settings that I've read about or can think of. I have performed countless factory resets, deleted my entertainment areas and recreated them. I can stop syncing, try re-enabling it, restart the device, unplug the device, disconnect and reconnect everything, nothing works. The main issue that I experience is that when I try to start syncing (or when it starts automatically when I turn on a device or change inputs), the lights (which may have been turned on using a scene from the standard Hue app), just completely shut off. I use it between a brand new 65" Amazon Fire Omni TV, a 4k Apple TV (newest generation), and a new PS5. I have this connected to 4 Hue Play bars (2 mounted to the back of my TV, and 2 resting on my entertainment console, illuminating the wall which the TV is mounted to). And once it malfunctions, there is no recovering. Sometimes it decides to work for a few hours, only to start bugging out again. I've tried all of the solutions, none of which work. I've checked for solutions everywhere, and it seems like in my case it just rotates between every issue I have ever read about. It's great when it works, which is almost never. This is literally the most frustrating product I have ever owned.
